1 Current projects

We aspire to combine our own expertise with the knowledge of our partners from industry and academia for mutual advantage.

GATC is partner as well as coordinator in a number of cooperation projects.

2 Project IDENTIGENE

Support Program Biotechnology Baden-Wuerttemberg

Development and validation of new suitable technologies for gene expression studies to identify functional candidate genes without the use of specific DNA probes.

Project partners

  • the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology (Stuttgart)
  • LAFUGA Laboratory for Functional Genome Analysis (Munich)
  • raytest Isotopenmessgeräte GmbH (Straubenhardt)

5 Project LABOWL™

Support programme BioChancePLUS

Development of a data and document management tool with variable bioinformatic links to functional modules

The goal of this project is the development of a data management and analysis system that will be realised in cooperation with the chair of bioinformatic and information mining of the University of Constance.

The systems basic task is on the one hand simple data management and archiving of manifold laboratory data derived from different sources, and on the other hand, depending on the context, data collection and structuring for subsequent different analysis.

Moreover, the user will have the possibility to perform an associative exploration of his data according to the motto “I don’t know what I’m looking for – but I’ll know it when I see it!”

The user will be able to apply analysis methods directly within the system using his own data or relevant 3rd party data sets. The system features the advantage of easy data tracking and use, even years after data entry. The data analysis and archived information will also be available for other users via integrated web services.

To give LABOWL users the possibility to enter their own data and to profit from other relevant information, an additional module will be developed that will create context specific links between data in the system.
